How to pronounce words more correctly?

My brother decided to pray and read the bible as a family. I can't read at all, therefore I can't pronounce words correctly, so I didn't want to join them but I forced myself. When it was my turn to read, I read the chapters. When we were finished with everything, my brother said that he couldn't understand me at all because I didn't pronounce the words correctly. I was somewhat offended because I want to pronounce the words correctly. That's the reason why I am always quiet in the cles because I'm afraid people would laugh at me. I called for literacy volunteering for ESL students, but they're looking for someone in my area that can help me. I'm really embarred. Everyone I talk to either stop me for repetition or they don't understand me at all. I don't want to go back to that prayer service. I'm really hurt. I would like one-on-one.
