Walk on to University of Colorado as a Quarterback?

I played in high school as a quarterback and I was scouted by a school in California who is d-1. I am from Illinois. My evaluation they said was good arm strength, nice pocket presence, great footwork and can make most if not all throws needed at the college level. There was a kid from New Jersey who came outta nowhere and got the scholarship. I had good interviews but something the kid had I didn't. I was thinking of walking onto University of Colorado at Boulder to reestablish myself as a good quarterback and I would like to know what everyone thinks about me walking on. I want to start, I have heart and I have absolute confidence in myself.
